Century breaks are considered the best skill level in snooker. A century break means that a player can win at least 100 points in a span of 25 consecutive games. Maximum break is 147 However, a number of players are known to have achieved even larger break.

Alex Higgins is considered one of the greatest comeback stories in the history of snooker. Higgins started as an amateur in Northern Ireland but made a mark in the world. He was awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to the sport after he won the 1984 World Doubles Championship and 1983 UK Championship. His matches became famous and were televised.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been the most successful player in snooker. Ronnie O'Sullivan has not only the most centuries, but also the most ranking title. He holds both the record for most career centuries and fastest maximum breaks. There is no other snooker player who has won more Triple Crowns. Ronnie O'Sullivan is the only player that deserves to be at the top of the snooker world.

Stephen Hendry is the most successful amateur snooker player of all time. At 15 years old, he won the UK Championship. He was also ranked as the youngest amateur champion. He has compiled 36 ranked titles, and is retired today.

Steve Davis was one the greatest snooker players in the 1980s and 1990s. In his prime, he held on to the World Championship title for fifteen consecutive years. He held the number 1 rank for seven years before he retired.

Stacey Hillyard has the record for having played the most centuries in a single match. She has won five professional tournaments, and she achieved the most centuries in a single season in 1994. This includes a match against Kyren White with a break of 114.

Joe Davis, Willie Thorne (with Barry Hawkins), Lynette Horsburgh, Dennis Taylor and Ray Reardon are just a few of the notable names. Michael White is one of many snooker professionals to have compiled a total of over 500 breaks. Jimmy White and Anthony Hamilton are others.

These players are not the only ones who have achieved 100 centuries during their snooker career. The above-mentioned list is regularly updated to include players that have passed the 80 mark. Players who are tied for most centuries will be sorted by most centuries during previous seasons.
