The World Snooker Rankings - Top 10 Players

The official rankings for professional snooker players are known as the world snooker ranks. These rankings determine who automatically qualifies to play in World Snooker Tour competitions. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association maintains these rankings. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association provides useful statistics on the sport, as well as providing players with an idea how they rank.

Judd Trump

Judd Trump ranks in the top 10 for world snooker. He is known for his spectacular breaks and his ability to dominate the sport. He has won 23 ranking titles, including the world championship. He is only 33 years old and still has the potential to remain at the top of his sport for at most ten more decades. However, his age combined with the grind of the tour might wear him down.

Mark Selby

Mark Selby, an Englishman who is considered to be one of the greatest players in the world, is a great example. He was a former England Under-15 champion and is currently a World Snooker Championship winner. He has a background playing pool. He was the 2006 WEPF Eight-Ball Pool Champion and a finalist in 2015's Chinese Pool World Championship. Selby is originally from Leicester in England. Malcolm Thorne (brother of Willie Thorne), was Selby's coach.

Ronnie O'Sullivan

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been at the top for 280 consecutive weeks. After reaching the semi finals of the Tour Championship, O'Sullivan's latest move put him ahead of Mark Selby. The Scot reached the top of the world in May 2002 and has since won 31 ranking title. Six World Championship titles, five UK Championships are just a few of his accomplishments.


Mark Williams

Mark Williams, currently ranked number 10, is one of the most skilled snooker players around. The Welshman was first to break into the elite of the snooker world in 1995 when he won both the Benson & Hedges Masters as well as the Welsh Open. He won the title of Benson & Hedges Masters by winning the Welsh Open and making a respotted white in the final. He was the fourth player who won three ranking championships in 1998.

Graeme Dott

Graeme Dott is the winner of two ranking titles. He also reached the finals at the China Open in 2010. But his form has been inconsistent. He has spoken out about his struggle with depression. The Australian ranks in the bottom half of world snooker rankings. However, he has a strong record at home.

Dott's career

Graeme Dott is a professional snooker player who has steadily risen the world snooker ranks since 1994. He made it to the top 16 in 2001, and he remained there until 2009. He reached quarter-finals in the Welsh Open 1996 and 1997. He was second in the 1999 Scottish Open, and third in the 2001 British Open. He was also second in the 2004 World Championship, and the 2005 Malta Cup. He made his first competitive 147 break in 1999 at the British Open.

Dotts' ranking

Dott's place in the world ranking of snooker has changed over the years. Six times, he has made it to the top 16. He was number two in the 2007/8 season. Dott's rank has fallen since then.

Mark Williams' ranking

The world snooker ranking of Mark Williams has steadily increased over the past few decades. He has won several tournaments including the Players Championship Grand Final in 2001. In the final, he also beat Ronnie O'Sullivan. He has also topped the world rankings on several occasions. However, his biggest ranking victory came in 2001, when he defeated Anthony Hamilton in the final of the China Open.
