After you have divided the team into two groups, you will throw the first ball. Your opponent will then be able to hit your ball and knock it off the court. Your round is over if you are hit by the ball of the opposing team. The round ends with the winner being the team with the most inside balls.
Before you start playing, make sure to choose a suitable court for bocce. You can use grass, sand or both. However, it must be level. You won't be able to roll the balls correctly if the sand is too hard or too loose. It is also important to be able to throw the jack in the right position.
A set of eight bocce balls is required to play. Each ball can have a diameter between 74mm and110mm. These balls can either be solid or filled with water. They are available in a variety of colors which makes it easier for you to identify the different sets. Bocce balls come in many different shapes. The white ball, for example, is called a "rabbit", while the other balls are called "piglet" and "duck".
The aim of a bocceball game is to get a ball closest the pallino. Two points are awarded for every bocce ball that touches the pallino. Additionally, your opponent can also kick your balls. This option will keep the game exciting. Be careful when throwing the bocceball.
In order to win the game, your team must reach twelve points. This means that each team must have eight balls. Each other team can have anywhere from one to four balls. Once they have scored 12 points, the game is over.
The next person will try to get their ball nearer to the pallino, than the one before. If they are successful, it's their turn to throw a jack. Failure will result in another chance for the other team.
Your team can continue the game until they have thrown it out if there is a dead ball. The other side will then have to try and get around the pallino so that it reaches its goal line. The raffa can be used to accomplish this. This will give you backspin to your bocce ball.
There are up to eight players per bocce team depending on how the rules are written. You can also have a few players if your team is smaller.
