The US Open Pool Championship is an annually held professional nine-ball pool tournament. It started in 1976 and is regarded as one the most important nine-ball titles worldwide. This tournament is a major pool event. The winner will receive $200,000 prize money and the title.

Max Lechner defeated Chinese Taipei's Ko Ping Chung 6-9

Max Lechner beat Koping Chung of Chinese Taipei 6-9 at the US open pool semifinal on Saturday. Lechner made his semi-final debut by jumping on the first rack, and then swooped in. However, Ko was able hit a two-ball into the pocket, and held on to the win.

The win paved the way for Lechner's run to the finals of the US Open Pool Championship, where he'll face Francisco Sanchez Ruiz. Ruiz was a former World No. Ruiz, a former World No. 1 in Live Nineball beat Lechner 13-10 for the $50,000 first prize. It's the first time that a Spaniard has won the event.

In semi-final, Max Lechner defeats Ben Crawley

Max Lechner is making a strong start to his US Open Pool Championship campaign. He beat Ben Crawley 13-10 at the semi-final. The German star is an emerging star, with a strong offensive game. He was also among the world's top 4, and at just twenty-one was the youngest Mosconicup winner. His victory also gave him the world no.1 ranking, the highest in the sport.


Max Lechner wins US Open Pool Championship in 2022

Max Lechner, a 21 year-old German player, was named the 2022 US Open Pool Championship winner. After a tight final frame, he won by four points. Sanchez Ruiz (playing for Colombia) committed a critical foul on Lechner’s final shot. This gave Ko the chance to run out of time, but Lechner was able to recover and win in a game that seemed to have no end in sight.

Las Vegas is the venue for the tournament. The winner of the US Open will take home a $300,000 prize. The event will feature a strong Filipino contingent. Both Dennis Orcollo (finalist) and Carlo Biado (quarterfinalist) advanced to the next round. In the semifinals, they will be facing Francisco Sanchez Ruiz or Ko Ping Chung.
