
Shaun Murphy is an international snooker player. He is known for his long-potting and straight cue actions. In his career, he has been able to achieve over 400 century breaks. This includes the second highest break in the Championship League for 2014.
Murphy was ranked number 3 in the world at start to the 2008/2009 Season. He fell to number seven during the 2010/2011 campaign. He won the Players Tour Championship in 2011 and finished his career Triple Crown. Murphy was considered an underdog and Murphy won the Players Tour Championship. Then in 2012 he reached the final of the UK Championship. He was however defeated by Judd Trump.
Murphy is considered a talented player and he has achieved many firsts in his career. Murphy's first 147 break is among his most notable achievements.
His career began on the Challenge Tour, also known by the UK Tour in 1998. Tony, Tony's father, was an avid golfer. He was bullied when he was a teenager. He was a homeschooler, but he did not see his mom until age 19. Elaine, his mother, met him a year later. The couple were married in June 2006. Despite family reservations, the couple got married in 2014.

In his career, Shaun has won over PS3 million in prize money. He has won seven non ranking tournaments. He has also been a part of eight ranking tournaments reaching the quarterfinals two times.
At the start to the 2004/2005 season, his ranking was number four in world. He was also the winner of the Brugge Open, and the Welsh Open. He had already been diagnosed with Savant Syndrome. It is a condition in autism that a person with autism exhibits superior skills.
In 2005, he won his first World Championship. He was awarded the BBC Sportsman of the YEAR award the following year. After that, he became a surgical resident at the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital in California.
Murphy was an awkward young boy who struggled to communicate with other people. Murphy's social skills may have been affected by this. Although he has had many complicated relationships with women, he is able to resolve these issues. Elaine was his girlfriend when he proposed to her at an Irish restaurant.
Ray Reardon was his coach when he was 15 years old. From then on, he was coached by Ray Reardon. He continued working with Steve Prest through 2006. Willie Thorne provided coaching for the 2007/2008 Season. He won the Challenge Tour’s third and fourth events.

Murphy won China's Wuxi Classic. Afterwards, he entered the elite top 16. His next appearance came at the inaugural Northern Ireland Trophy. Despite having the tournament's shortest qualifying round of only five frames, he reached the quarterfinals and beat teenager Luca Brecel.
He went on winning the German Masters, Ruhr Championships, and the inaugural Northern Ireland Trophy. For the entire 2008/2009 season, he was still ranked number 3. During that same season, he reached the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters and the UK Championship.
