Pool is a highly competitive game unlike most other billiards. It is popular throughout the world. There are many types of pool in America, but the most well-known are the nine and eight ball pool. Pool matches are typically played over several games. The winner is usually declared after completing a certain number frame. The winner receives 61 points. However, different winning numbers can be awarded handicaps.
The goal of the game, however, is to get all the balls that are designated for being pounded. Each ball that is pounded counts for one point. However, any additional balls that are pounded count for one point. The eight-ball rule states that a player can win only if they take the ball first. The game is over if a player doesn't pocket the eight balls. If the eight ball is pocketed during a foul, the other balls that were pocketed in the course of the foul are pocketed and are spotted. But, the foul is not counted towards the points. If a player commits two fouls in a row, they are required to be told before playing their next shot.

The balls are divided into three groups: solid balls; striped balls; and object balls. They are typically smaller than American style balls. They come in a variety colours, including dark violet for four and twelve balls. In the past, the object balls were all red, but these days they are usually multi-colored. They can be made from wood, fibreglass or carbon fibre. Common ball diameters include 2+1/16", 2" and 3".
The object of the game is to pocket the black eight ball. The player must keep track of all the balls he has been assigned to pound. However, he must ensure that every ball that is not in his pocket is spotted and placed in the right lines to the footrail. The ball that has been pocketed is placed back on the table. Next, the player who took the eight ball must decide whether he wants or not to play the game.
The player can take a ball and pocket it without fouling. He or she must place the ball in the exact spot at the foot of the player calling the shot. If a foul is committed during the course of the shot, the other balls that were pocketed must be placed in direct line to the foot spot. The foul will not be added to the points but will result in a player receiving a free shot. The foul can be played with any ball.

When a player hits a shot they must put the ball in their own bag. The balls in the front row and the middle of the table must be hit first. However, if the foul is committed before the ball is pocketed it must be pocketed again. Any other balls may be taken by the player in addition to the one in the front row.
