Rules of Dodgeball

Dodgeball is easy to understand and the rules are very simple. To protect their heads from direct headshots, players must take precautions. Also, players must avoid dead balls. These rules are enforced by a referee. When a player is eliminated, the game ends. This was traditionally played in gyms, camps, and other places. There are some rules that must be followed in competitive games, but dodgeball is a simple game that can be played in any setting. Selection of teams can be as easy as lining up, or as complicated as drafting players.

Players must protect themselves from direct headshots

To prevent a player receiving a headshot directly, they need to take evasive action to stop the shot. Direct headshots are those where the ball strikes a player directly in the head, with no other contact. The ball cannot touch anything prior to striking a player's forehead. However, it can bounce off the body of the player or his hands before hitting their head. The player must also be upright at the time that they are hit. Headshots are automatically negated if the player moves out of their normal position.

Dodgeball requires players to protect themselves from headshots. A dead ball is one that the ball hits the player's head directly. A player can take a headshot while standing straight. If a player is struck in the head while lying down, they will be called out.

Dead balls

Dead balls are balls that are not thrown into play during a game. These are used to prevent players from receiving multiple hits from one object. A dodgeball game is played on a small court that has a centerline and two sidelines. The game is primarily self refereed and governed under honour rules. Four referees are located at the middleline. The referees will start and end the game and confirm hits and count the time that players have possession of the ball. Each team starts off with one ball. Place the two balls in the middle of the court. Each team has five seconds to release a ball.

If a dodgeball thrown by one team is not within the boundaries of the other team's territory, it will be considered "dead balls". This means that the player who stepped on the boundary line of the other team is out. A player must keep his or her ball within ten seconds or else they'll be out of the game.

Unsportsmanlike conduct

Dodgeball has very specific rules and all players must adhere to them. Participants must wear either a shirt or shorts with no sharp metal parts. They must also refrain from wearing jewelry during the game. A referee is required to be present throughout the game in order to keep the game going and to ensure that players are safe. The referee is responsible for deciding on any contested plays. Referees make final decisions that cannot be appealed. If a player is found violating the rules they will be warned. The referee may call technical fouls depending on the severity of the violation.

Participation in dangerous throwing behavior is grounds for disqualification. Players who engage in this behavior will be warned by the referee, and the ball will be turned over to the opposing team. Throws that are high or close to the head of an opponent player are considered dangerous throws. Throwing players who are caught in this manner will be ejected and they will be banned from all future games.

Overtime rules

Dodgeball is a game in which players try to catch a live football before it touches the ground. To play, players must keep within the court's boundaries. A player who steps beyond the line is out. Players are also expelled if they touch or attempt to kick a dodgeball. If the game ends in a tie, overtime can be played to determine the winner.

Each team can only retrieve three (3) balls to its right of the center haveh. They must also be within their attack line before legal throwing. Teams are limited to three minutes per overtime. The winner will be the team that has the most players.

Neutral zone

The neutral zone in dodgeball is the space around the court's centreline. Players may enter this area without being hit or stepped on, but are automatically out if they cross it. Players can use a variety of offensive and defensive strategies to attack their opponent from within the neutral zone. However, players must not be touched or hit.

Two teams of six are required to play the game. The ball on each side of the court is the property of the team. The ball must be returned to the team that has most of them within 10 seconds. Each team has two ball retrievers that can collect off-court balls. For interfering with other teams' balls or entering the neutral zone, ball retrievers will be sent off.
